Student Development : A student perspective

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll probably know this, but just a very quick update to let you know that the Student Development student blog is now up and live! You can read it here:

I can now reveal that the first author/contributor is (drum roll) Faizan Patankar who is a third year engineering student. Read more about Faiz on the ‘About Us‘ page.

It’s all very exciting because I think (and I stress think) from my research that we are the first of our kind to have a blog written by students, for students. I’m very grateful that Stuart Johnson, as acting head of SD, gave me the go ahead to run with this idea!

As I’ve said before, we’ll see how it goes, but I have had interest from another couple of students who are interested in contributing long term. Hopefully we can have multiple students all blogging at the same time and you’ll be able to get to know them and follow their progress through University.

If you are a student who would be interested in eventually joining my team of bloggers, feel free to get in touch, by commenting here, emailing me at or Tweeting me.

Oh, and if you have comments on the blog, suggestions for posts you’d like to read or anything else, please feel free!
